A reader writes, "I moved to Baton Rouge from Boston to attend grad school at LSU in the fall and this is my first crawfish 'season.' Can you recommend a great place to buy them already boiled?" -S.D.
Let the strong opinions fly, ‘cause the places, be they restaurant or market are plenty. In my experience, it’s rare to be served sub-par boiled crawfish. I like Tony’s, the Country Corner, and Pat’s in Henderson. Post your favorite below.
For natives, crawfish are so ubiquitous this time of year they escape wonderment. But for transplants, eating, boiling, and standing around a table elbow-deep in crawfish, beer and friends is strangely fascinating and uniquely heart-warming. Ask your favorite transplant when they first tasted crawfish and you’re guaranteed a where-were-you-when-Kennedy-was-shot quick response.
Before Hurricane Rita tampered with southwest Louisiana’s delicate rice farm/crawfish pond symbiosis, we were experiencing solid seasons full of fat plentiful mudbugs. The storm wrecked the crawfish food supply and caused a build up of salt, two things LSU AgCenter experts hope were eased this year with all the rain. And while we might not be back up to pre-storm bounty, this season looks to be longer and better than last year.
Enjoy, and don’t forget, like I do, what day your trash pickup is.

My personal favorite is the Country Corner. They are extra juicy so the meat comes out easily. But anywhere you get them will most likely be good. Who's got the best? It's a matter of opinion.

Sammy's on Highland Road has the best you can find in a Baton Rouge restaurant, not to mention the coldest beer in town.

dreux's grill on perkins rd has by far the best. they don't get so hot you can't enjoy them and they also do not serve those little ones even on the all-u-can-eat nights
their whole menu is fabulous
