THE METHOD
This is no ordinary "best of" list. We first asked our readers to nominate their favorite places, people, things and events in more than 50 categories. We counted more than 33,000 individual nominations, then tallied up the top vote-getters in each category and turned the information over to market research firm Survey Communications Inc. / S.C.I. Research.
Using a random sampling methodology from a database of more than 24,000 area residents with e-mail addresses, S.C.I. randomly contacted 8,911 of them between April 21 and May 2. Respondents were asked to pick their favorite from a short list of nominees for each category. S.C.I.'s web-based survey program auto-rotated all answers to each "best of" question in order to remove any possible question/answer bias. Interestingly, exactly 2,225 people responded.
The percentages shown represent the share of votes by the respondents who chose to rate a particular category.

I know they are only open for lunch, but what happened to THE SKYHOOK CAFE'??? The best burgers, po-boys and muff's in Baton Rouge!!!!!

Papa murphys is awesome, great idea pick up your pizza and take it home to bake it at your own pace, GREAT CONCEPT!!

If I'm going to take the time to drive to pick up a pizza, I want it hot and ready to go. I don't use the oven so much in the summer.
