Monjunis proves folks in Shreveport can cook. This North Louisiana restaurant doubles as a small Italian grocery. The sweet sauce provides a different taste from conventional Italian restaurants. Homemade sausage and meatballs - mama mia.

Although the atmosphere and vibe are appeasing the food leaves a lot to be desired. The bread served before the meal seems as though it was from a supermarket versus being fresh baked. The marinara sauce was thin and "watery" and not thick and hearty like real marinara sauce should be. The flavor of the sauce overall was weak and tasted more like a paste. The veal was horrid and was curiously chewy. Over all was not impressed.

i have eaten at monjuni's several times, at different times of the day. the best and quickest service is lunch during the week. saturday nights, unless you get there early (real early) you're gonna wait - a while! Service was not good on the saturday night i went. however, the food has always been jammin'......especially the shrimp aurora and there's enough to feed me twice and my (2) big dogs get the left overs. they love it too! don't take our word for it, go try it!!!

I have found the food and sevice to be good on my visits. I like dining both inside and outside. Be aware they use a very sweet sauce on some of their items that is too sweet for me. Some may like this level of sweetness, but I don't. Also note that the servings are very large. I will return and will enjoy my visit.

This review is for the Monjunis in Kenilworth Shopping Center, which has just opened. The vibe was terrible, but what is worse than that was the food was horrible. For starters we ordered a Ceasar salad that was brought to us in a plasic dish the size of a cup for 7.95. The main dishes were shrimp dishes, the shrimp were loaded with iodine so much so we could not eat them. At the end of the meal I asked to speak with the manager to let him know of the iodine in the shrimp. For being new in the neighborhood i thought he might like to know. He was the most arrogant abrassive individual I have ever met. I asked him if he could comp some of the meal he said, no way, but had to make a cocky comment as i began to walk out the door. It was bad enough the food was absolutly horrible, but to get cocky with the customers, that was over the line. My advice is stay clear of this monjunis completely. This jerk won't be in business long in the Kenilwoth Shopping Center. Personally I will be glad to see this jerk fall flat on his face.

I never post comments on these types of websites, but I saw the ignorant post by a man about the Highland Road Monjunis and felt inclined to refute his inaccurate comments. First of all, the food is great. I have never been disappointed. One time (out of many) that I ate there my lasagna came out cold and the waiter could not have been more accomadating. The atmosphere is very unique and fun, in that you are surronded by thousands of grapes hanging from the ceiling and great artwork on the walls. The value of the food is very good. All of thier portions are huge so you can split something or take something home. The service is outstanding. The fact that someone would call their manager arrogant and abrassive obviously means this man knows nothing about the restaurant or the staff. I am in the restaurant with my family at least 3-4 times a month and they have some of the most helpful and warmest restaurant managers in the business. I would encourage anyone to try this place out, my family, my office, and myself enjoy it greatly.

I LOVE MONJUNIS! The atmosphere is quite pleasant. With 2 locations to choose from, you can't miss out on a good thing! The menu offers alot of Italian favorites, with the Italian Sampler being my fave! The red sauce is sweet and reminds me of my grandmother's sauce(may she rest in peace.) I love that you can acutally purchase a jar of the sauce or pick up a jar of the Italian olive mix or you can even take home a frozen lasagna! It's great! My family and I make it a point to eat at Monjunis several times a month. I highly suggest this eatery!
