Heresy in Baton Rouge would be saying a chain serves great seafood. But 225 will accept stones thrown for recommending Bone Fish Grill because it is better than most local seafood restaurants. And the menu isn't the same old fried foods.

I had put off going here because it looked so expensive but, I was delighted to find that it was very affordable, fantastic food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. It was a great experience and I will definately return!

I had called for reservations for 8 at 8PM on a Sat. night. I was told that they only reserve 20% of their seating facility, and they had met their limit. So that was fine. We arrive at 7:45PM, and put our name in for 8 people. The wait would be 1 hour 20 minutes. The hostess then suggested that I grab a table in the bar area, that sits approx. 10 people. I didn't want to sit in the bar area. Then she suggested that we break up our party. I told her that it was a special occasion, and unacceptable, that we wanted to sit together. We waited from 7:45, to 9:15, where they finally sat us down at a table for a reservation that didn't show up.
The food was very good. Our waitress was very couteous and on her toes. BUT, the staff who serves the food, salads in particuaar, basically threw the salads on the table like a deck of cards. I guess their version of deal-a-meal. Didn't like their presentation of their table ettiquette. I informed our waitress, and I emphasizied that it was not her at all. From then on, we did have excellent service, but, she was the one involved in serving our entree's from that point. Overall, for the price spent in this restaurant, I was not impressed with the McDonald's fast food attitude of service.

I'm usually not the type of person to really enjoy or frequent chain restaurants, but Bonefish is definitely an exception! The hostesses and servers are very friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is amazing. I would recommend the steamed mussels; they are on the appetizer section of the menu. Every time I've gotten them they have been cooked perfectly, not rubbery and overdone as in some seafood restaurants.
