The next pictures are a photo essay of the influence of Western brands in Middle Eastern society. All of these pictures were taken in Dubai's premier mall, The Mall of Emirates. Due to the significant population of Europeans and Americans in Dubai, this mall has more Western stores than most. This is just a taste of of the brands that I recognized while I was there. The stores that I show in the pictures are not the only ones but it goes to show the prevalence of Western brands in the region is significant.
The beach near KhorFakkan. It was very pretty but unfortunately when I went in I noticed tons of baby jellyfish in the water.
This building known as the Burj Dubai is still under construction, but is already taller than the Sears Tower. Its builders will not release what its final height will be, but it is slated to be the tallest building in the world when it is first occupied in 2008.
