How to not get lost in the library

One of the biggest things to happen in Baton Rouge in recent years was the opening of the sprawling, state-of-the-art new Main Library at Goodwood. It’s got everything. Need a DVD box set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer? It’s in the audio/visual section. Want to find out when your family immigrated to America? Check the genealogy department. Need help applying for a job? The Career Center has your back. There’s even a 3-D printer to create plastic sculptures out of a scan or sketch, if you’re into that kind of thing.

You can check out a framed painting to hang in your apartment, that new Roxanne Gay book you keep hearing about and a video player for your kid nephew, all while seeing everything the library has to offer—if you know the way to find it, that is. We mapped out a path that will take you through the library’s greatest hits before bringing you back to the front desk to check out your haul.
