Tailgate splash
You could combine all the revelers from Spanish Town Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day and the party wouldn’t come close to Baton Rouge’s single hottest social season: LSU tailgating.
LSU campus will bulge to more than 100,000 people no fewer than eight times with a full home slate this fall. That means lots of parties, cookouts, seafood boils and casual tailgating parties from the season home opener Aug. 30 to the Ole Miss game Nov. 22.
Local retailers will be awash with new clothes and accessories for fans eager to gear up for the party. And there are plenty of new styles and innovative ideas to keep the party going.
225 scoured local racks and shelves for some of the LSU-hued merchandise sure to keep tailgaters party-hopping for fresh recipes, cold beverages and innovative comforts and conveniences.
From fresh takes on classic clothing to nifty new gadgets, all that’s left is for Coach Les Miles to field another competitive team, and fall’s sure to be a hit once again.

LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette and his wife Robin were good enough sports to help us showcase the latest clothes and accessories, with help from their three children: (from left) Grant, 9, Max, 2, and Peyton, 10.
