Vincent’s is a jazz and R&B club by night, and by day, a Katrina refugee from New Orleans that’s built a loyal following in Baton Rouge. It features New Orleans Creole faire, baby back ribs, Cajun popcorn salad and more in a calming setting with a nice vibe. The crawfish à la Vincent (left) features delicately-battered, tender fried catfish topped with a crawfish sauce that goes beyond typical étouffée. Rich and seasoned with a touch of cream, it’s wonderfully peppery and packs a back-of-the-throat wallop. The red beans and rice are balanced and soft, the cornbread squares are sweet, and the thin-grilled pork chops are tender from a patient marinade. The service is good and the music on the box, smooth.
