Ever wonder why pedal pushers made a comeback in the mid-1990s? Unable to find slim-fitting black pants long enough for Uma Thurman’s lengthy legs, the Pulp Fiction costume designer snipped a few extra inches off, creating a flared cropped look, which inspired the comeback of pedal pushers. And the combination of a black bra and a tailored white button-down escalated a visible black bra from trashy to chic."
