When Monjunis Italian Café and Grocery owner Jimmy Rosso was growing up, his Italian grandmother would round up her grandchildren for dinner by calling them her “little monjunis,” a play on the Italian word mangiare, meaning “to eat.” Today, Monjunis is synonymous with authentic Italian cuisine and has locations across Louisiana and in Texas. Next year marks Monjunis’ 25th anniversary, and business isn’t slowing down. The folks behind the popular Shreveport-based chain

have a lot on their plates this month, with brand new locations in Monroe and on Highland Road near Kenilworth Parkway in Baton Rouge.
