Ask Brandon Landry, co-owner of downtown’s latest pizza and beer joint, why he has taken the risk to open an all-night restaurant in one of Baton Rouge’s sleepiest parts of town—the answer you find may just be a play on words of its very name. Taken from a common saying, Landry says Schlittz & Giggles has a “silly name, but serious pizza.”
Every batch of the pizza joint’s thin-crust dough will include a can of Schlitz beer.
“We just wanted something fun,” he laughs. “We’ll probably sell more T-shirts and hats than pizza.”
Schlittz & Giggles on the corner of Third and Florida streets (at the former Mortorano’s) will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 a.m., as early as June 1.
