As the place where Slim Harpo and Buddy Guy cut their teeth, Baton Rouge has left an indelible mark on the blues, and during Blues Week April 22-29, you will see and hear that mark all over town. Mr. Hinson and the Blisters—a large-scale youth garage-rock orchestra directed and conducted by Righteous Buddha bassist Dave Hinson—kicks off Blues Week with their performance at Earth Day festivities downtown. Other Earth Day performers include the Michael Foster Project, Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie and the Benjy Davis Project. earthdaybr.org
The party continues throughout the week at venues all over town.
