A rare one for the cellar

Recently, exactly three bottles of Henschke Hill of Grace 2001 Shiraz were shipped to Louisiana restaurants: Juban’s, Emeril’s and Brennan’s in New Orleans. The Australian winery produces small runs of this 100% shiraz, grown from 150-year-old vines in the rich, alluvial soil of the Eden Valley. Juban’s Sommelier Jimmy Ward says ideally this exotic, complex red, whose black fruit flavor profile is accented by hints of tar, anise and cedar, is best cellared and opened after 2012. It’s priced at $750.
