Three times the charms

Sick of the spoiled brats on MTV’s My Super Sweet 16? Dig this: Volunteer Jeannie Coxie threw a “Dream Party” recently for a group of preteen girls from the North Baton Rouge FEMA trailer park, Renaissance Village. Each girl was given a fleur-de-lis charm representing their past in New Orleans, and a FEMA trailer charm for their present. Then they were asked to choose charms to symbolize their future. Here, Keyonna London holds three pieces, including the international medical symbol because she hopes to one day become a doctor. The party was at the Silver Sun and sponsored by Charlie’s Coffee, Raising Cane’s and Louisiana Film Resources.
