Lynn Johnson isn’t afraid of color. At a photo shoot several years ago, her ever-changing hair color—“It’s been every color of the rainbow,” she says—and her fascination with wigs earned her the nickname Chameleon by her then-mentor. Four years ago Johnson opened Chameleon Image Studio, a salon tucked under Interstate 10 on Perkins Road, and the reptilian moniker still stumps customers. “People think we’re called Camellia, like the flower,” Johnson laughs.
