“It’s the weekend. Baton Rouge is aquiver with anticipation of the main event. The crisp autumn air energizes folks as they stroll toward the excited crowds already gathered in front. Fashion-boys and fashion-girls preen like glamorous peacocks, but jeans and a T-shirt have their place too. Inside the space, staff rushes to make sure concessions are ready. Finally, we unlock the doors, and people stream in chatting excitedly as they take in the scene. It ROCKS! Later, after the art opening, someone checks the football scores on the Internet. LSU won! That’s cool—but man, the art show was amazing! I can’t imagine B.R. without art.”
