Phil’s Oyster Bar moved to College Drive. Taking its original Government Street location last month is Opie’s Cajun Café, a po’boy and jambalaya joint owner Brian Medlin calls “Old New Orleans meets trendy.” Really, as The Chimes is to LSU, Medlin hopes Opie’s to be to nearby Baton Rouge Community College. The restaurant converts into a smoke-free bar, open until 2 a.m. on weekends. opiescajuncafe.com.

Excellent food! Owner Opie is one of the friendliest guys I've ever met, and he makes it a point to greet you personally. The service was right on the mark and his staff is friendly and efficient. Don't pass up this great restaurant. I guarantee you'll love the food!
Keep up the good work Opie and staff!
From one happy patron!
