Raising Cane’s owner Todd Graves recently returned with a handful of employees, a few lucky customers and a film crew from a road trip commemorating the 10th Anniversary of Cane’s 1, located near The Chimes at the North Gates of LSU. The contest winners—including Josh Hefner who submitted a homemade video of himself showering in Cane’s famous sauce to win the trip—traveled with Graves from Los Angeles to Naknek, Alaska, and finally to Baton Rouge. The trip retraced the steps Graves took to earn and save money for the first Raising Cane’s restaurant. The crew toured Hollywood went king salmon fishing and dog sledding on a glacial plain. When salmon proved a hard catch on the last day of fishing, contestant winner Lesley Beckers decided to have some fun with the Cane’s founder.

“I took a big king salmon off the wall at the lodge, stood in the water pretending I had just caught it and took a picture,” says Beckers, an elementary teacher in Lafayette. “When Todd’s group got back to the lodge, I showed him the picture, and he couldn’t believe it! That lasted a couple hours before he realized it was a joke.”
