Scott Woodward
HERE: Director of External Affairs at LSU
THERE: Vice President of External Affairs at the University of Washington
When and why did you leave Baton Rouge?
In October 2004. I had the incredible opportunity to work in one of the highest ranked academic research institutions in America.
What do you miss about the city?
Family, friends and my former colleagues at LSU.
What don’t you miss about it?
The lack of support for the academic enterprise of my beloved alma mater, LSU.
What does Seattle have that you wish Baton Rouge had?
Seattle is a progressive city, full of energy and has a creative class of individuals rivaling any city. It has more cultural events and bike and pedestrian paths.
What’s essential when you come back to visit?
Spending time with my family and friends. Home and Louisiana are all about people.
When were you in town last?
About a month ago. I am a creature of habit, so I eat at the same four restaurants: Jay’s BBQ, Serop’s, DiGiulio’s and Gino’s—I miss Mama Marino’s cooking.
