"He began grabbing at my guitars before he was one year old, and one of his first words was ’tar for guitar.” That’s how Tom Guillot describes the first sign that his son Chris had extraordinary musical talent. Now 13, Chris is proficient on 10 instruments, well versed in rock and blues and writes his own songs. His band was the opening act for this year’s Spanish Town Mardi Gras Ball and, this fall, will be profiled in the HBO documentary The Music in Me, about musically talented children across the country. “They had been searching the Web and found his name playing for charity events and festivals,” explains the proud papa, who plays in his son’s band. “Any instrument he touches he will play within a short time.” (chrisguillot.net)
