Mall movies

Baton Rouge has a new multiplex. Just call it the “new theater” behind the “new mall.” The Mall of Louisiana 15, a Rave Motion Pictures theater, opened last month off Bluebonnet Boulevard at I-10. Ten of the multiplex’s 15 screens offer digital projection, and one is equipped for 3-D films. Readers voted the Rave Motion Pictures theater on I-12 as their favorite in our July Best of 225 issue. The new 3,200-seat multiplex offers elevator access, the same plush seats and four glorious feet of legroom between each row of stadium seating.

“It’s really a state-of-the-art theater like one you would see in New York or Chicago,” says Rave representative Jeremy Devine. “You have to offer moviegoers a great experience like this to compete with DVDs and downloads.”
