It’s in the hole
Patrick Reed won the prestigious Junior British Open golf tournament in July, topping teens from 60 countries. Baton Rouge’s summer heat prepared Reed well for the rare broiling temperatures at the tournament. Reed, who turns 16 this month, is a sophomore at U-High.
BR: bachelor hotbed
People magazine recently named self-made millionaire Scott Sullivan as one its hottest bachelors. Sullivan created Corps of Compassion, a nonprofit group that helped thousands of victims of Katrina and Rita.
Meanwhile, local entrepreneur Marcus Lewis, owner of Lewis Pierce Fine Clothing, was named by Ebony magazine as one of its top bachelors for 2006. He was joined for an evening at Ruth’s Chris Steak House by local lawyer Tiffany Foxworth who won a date with the eligible bachelor.
Rock and a hard place
Chris Pierson, who was raised in Baton Rouge but now resides in Atlanta, enjoyed the briefest taste of celebrity. Pierson was among the first few contestants booted from the CBS reality show Rock Star: Supernova.
