About 40,500,” Google conceded.
The Baton Rouge-raised LSU basketball phenom is reigning female college player of the year, which only broadened the legend of her deft touch and winning abilities.
The online press clippings are countless, as are the platitudes, from sports news sites to a basketball blog for tall women.
Gushed Newsday’s Johnette Howard: “Augustus can do all the fl ashy things that most superstars can, but she resorts to such moves sparingly. She has a silky midrange jumper that few players ever develop.”
On another site, her coach, Pokey Chatman, put it more succinctly: “When she touches the ball, something special is going to happen.”
