We asked readers of Daily Report.com for their favorite Tiger hangouts outside Louisiana. You pelted us with suggestions. The best:
CHICAGO: GAMEKEEPER’S TAVERN
The skinny: Chicagoans still singing that Tiger Rag meet at Gamekeeper’s on W. Armitage Ave. for football and a pie Saturdays in the fall.
DALLAS: BEN’S HALF YARD HOUSE
The skinny: A big meal for the big game. This Greenville Avenue joint offers LSU fans a half-pound burger and a half-yard beer. “For the Alabama game, one of the original ‘Chinese Bandits’ defense players was there with a boom box playing the fight song and leading other cheers,” says reader Michael Whitman.
HOUSTON: BIG WOODROW’S
The skinny: Tiger maniacs can get plenty of crawfish with their pigskin on Chimney Rock Road. “It is always packed with crazy LSU fans game days,” says Kasey Bratton.
LOS ANGELES: MR. POCKETS
The skinny: Things get heated between LSU and Bama alumni at this huge sports bar in Manhattan Beach—just like home.
NEW YORK CITY: BLONDIE’S
The skinny: This two-story sports bar on the Upper East Side is home to the city’s considerable LSU Alumni Association.
