Superior Grill eyes second location. According to a story from The Advocate, the ever-popular Superior Grill plans to open a second Baton Rouge location at the intersection of Highland Road and Kenilworth Parkway within a year. The restaurant will be in a building in the Kenilworth Shopping Center that was formerly occupied by Arzi’s and Monjunis. The new location is said to be a little more upscale than the Government Street iteration.

Dat Dog is looking for a Baton Rouge location. According to an article from The Advertiser, the New Orleans-based eatery Dat Dog is “100 percent looking” to open a Capital City location. Though the restaurant’s spokesperson also said a Lafayette location might be in the works, no details as to where or what the new locations will entail have been released. Calls to a representative with the restaurant were not returned.

The Grill closes. A contemporary Creole restaurant that opened just a year ago has closed. The Grill shut its doors in May without explanation, according to a story from Daily Report. The restaurant was located in the former Galatoire’s Bistro space at 17451 Perkins Road. Real estate broker George Kurz attributed the closure to the restaurant’s lack of marketing and identity.
