Now Open: Pat’s Cajun Seafood and Steak

A Henderson staple has finally opened its doors in Baton Rouge. Pat’s Cajun Seafood & Steak has opened on Jefferson Highway in the former location of Las Palmas by Mama Della’s Pizzeria.

Pat’s specializes in Cajun dishes such as seafood gumbo and crawfish étoufée, as well as steak and fried seafood platters. This is the third Pat’s location, and Chef Jude Huval is owner and operator. Huval is the son of Pat and Agnes, the couple that started Pat’s Fisherman’s Wharf in Henderson more than 60 years ago. Huval’s sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Ricky Perioux, opened Pat’s of Henderson in Lake Charles 30 years ago.

The Capital City location is a bit smaller than the other Pat’s location, with room for about 150 patrons. The interior has a rustic feel to it, with paintings of pelicans and LSU regalia covering the walls, as well as a few antique nautical items. Dishes range in price, but start around $8.95. Already, Pat’s is attracting a strong lunch crowd just days after opening.

Business hours are Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m.-9 p.m., and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-till. Live entertainment will kick off Tuesday-Thursday 6 p.m.-9 p.m. For more information, visit the restaurant on Facebook.
