Ducote talks ‘Cutthroat Kitchen’ experience

Local food blogger and chef Jay Ducote made a respectable showing on Sunday’s episode of Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen. In the episode titled “Ho-ley Pot,” Ducote competed using single-brew coffee pots to cook up hot Italian sausage minestrone. However, his second round take on “falafel cracklins” didn’t make the cut, and Ducote failed to reach the final round of the competitive cooking show. In an interview with 225, he says he’s proud of his showing. “I would have loved to win, but I wanted to make sure that I was true to myself and came across as the guy that I am,” he says.
