The Draft House sets grand opening

Beer lovers will have a new spot to hang come next weekend. The Draft House, a new bar from Metro Council member John Delgado and Andrew Bayard, will open next Friday, Dec. 19, at 3 p.m. This is Bayard and Delgado’s third bar. The duo also opened Brickyard South (in the former Mud and Water) and Huey’s.

The Draft House is at 421 Third St. Bayard says its business hours will be Tuesday-Saturday 3 p.m.-2 a.m., and Sunday 3 p.m.-midnight to start out. As its name suggests, The Draft House offers beers, and tons of them—more than 90 beers on tap as well as 90-100 bottled beers. The bar will also offer a number of bourbons.

“There are about 60 to 70 beers that you’ll see at bars that will sell, and we went to having around 95 because we believe there are 25 to 35 beers you won’t see anywhere that are just cool beers to try and find,” Bayard says.

The Draft House will have 75-inch HD TVs throughout, but won’t offer live music. Rather, Bayard says the bar will be a no-frills hangout spot. After the New Year, he says, they will also build out the bar’s kitchen and introduce some food.
