Record Store Day in Baton Rouge

For the music lovers, Record Store Day is a special event. The day celebrates independent record stores across the globe. This year’s Record Store Day kicks off Saturday, April 18, and Baton Rougeans have three stores to visit, each with their own way of ringing in the musical holiday.

Below is a look at what three Capital City record stores will be doing tomorrow. Each store will have different limited edition Record Store Day releases.

Lagniappe Records 
705 St. Joseph Street
Opens at 10 a.m.
• Pure Delight Coffee will be at the shop at 6 a.m. for those waiting in line.
• Love at Phirst Bite will be serving breakfast treats, vegan cupcakes and organic fruit popsicles.
• City Pork will provide lunch in the afternoon.
• A keg of beer will be provided by The Radio Bar.
• KLSU DJs McFly, Baby Kate and Hellcat will spin records all day.
• Expect raffle prizes and giveaways.

Kerry Beary’s Atomic Pop Shop 
2963 Government Street
Opens at 9 a.m.
• Coffee and beignets from Modern Meals
• Live music from AF the NAYSAYER
• A screening of Records Collecting Dust after hours.
• Giveaways

Capital City Records
4641 Perkins Road
Opens at 9 a.m.
• Used vinyl will be 20% off
• Those in line before 9 a.m. will be entered to win an Audio-Technica turntable
• Door prizes, raffles and giveaways
