Description: Meredith Pardue - "Strange Ground" Artist Statement:
"My paintings are visual records of nature's cycles of growth and decay. I combine the random actions of painting with controlled, deliberate markmaking to describe each form, which is often floral or plantlike in structure.
I could say that I intimate a certain relationship between physical and psychological space in my work, because in a sense that is true. But my approach to making a painting is much more comfortable, intuitive, and personal than that. And so, the result of this visual investigation—the painting itself—reflects that process. I am most interested in extracting singular experiences from nature's endless cycles, and in transforming the public world of nature into a place of private knowledge."
Meredith has a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and an MFA from Parsons School of Design.

Anthony Henderson

Anthony Henderson was born in Bloomington, Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree in printmaking from Indiana University and an MFA from Louisiana State University in 1990.
Anthony moved to New Orleans in 1991 where he worked as a artist exhibiting frequently including a show of small scale sculpture at the Contemporary Arts Center. As a professional sculptor and painter, Anthony has created works for the film industry working as a designer and sculptor for Global Effects in Los Angeles, California. Most recently he has produced sculpture for the Andy Warhol biopic "Factory Girl" and in Baton Rouge created set sculpture for "The Reaping." Anthony chooses to use traditional sculpture materials to create his work. Many of the sculptures are made from marble, alabaster or limestone.
