Heads up: The Londoner hosts World Cup Beer Dinner June 1

The Londoner is celebrating the Women’s World Cup with a beer dinner.

The pub and restaurant at 4215 South Sherwood Forest Blvd. will host a World Cup Beer Dinner Monday, June 1, at 7 p.m. The five-course dinner spotlights international foods and will serve as a kick-off to the restaurant screening the soccer games, which start the following weekend. Tickets to the dinner are $65. To make reservations, call 292-9291.

The top seeds of the Women’s World Cup and the host, Canada, are the themes for each course. Each course will be paired with a beer from the country as well. Check out the menu:

First course: Canada
Duck confit poutine topped with smoked Gouda and fontina cheese and served with black pepper red-eye gravy, paired with Unibroue La Fin Du Monde

Second course: Brazil
Traditional feijoada (stew of black beans, pork and vegetables), paired with Colorado Guanabara

Third course: Germany
Cucumber salad with fresh heirloom tomatoes, red onions and white asparagus tossed in a creamy dill and tarragon dressing, paired with Weihenstephan Hefe Weissbier

Fourth course: United States
Braised barbecue beef sliders served with apple and carrot coleslaw, paired with Rogue Farms Fresh Roast

Fifth course: France
Chocolate Pot de Crème, paired with Kronenbourg 1664
