The Louisiana Culinary Institute and the LSU AgCenter are teaming up once again to host Gourmet in the Garden, an outdoor tasting event with local chefs, live music and dancing in one of Baton Rouge’s most beloved settings. More than two dozen chefs will prepare original dishes with regional ingredients against a backdrop of spring foliage.

“It’s a fun and casual event that will have live music from Chris LeBlanc, wine and spirits from local purveyors and lots of food set inside Burden’s Botanic Gardens,” LCI Director of Public Affairs Charlie Ruffolo says. “All of the proceeds will go toward the not-for-profit LCI Foundation and LSU AgCenter.”

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Featured chefs include Troy Deano from Brackish, Mark Alleman from Hook and Boil, Jimmy Le from the ProStart high school culinary training program, Scott Vardedoe from Restaurant IPO and Jay Ducote from Bite & Booze. Several others from Greater Baton Rouge are expected to participate as well.
