CrawFête, Sips & Suds headline busy food week

Baton Rouge foodies won’t want to miss the bevy of great food events planned for this week.

Up first is the Baton Rouge Epicurean Society’s CrawFête. The annual gourmet crawfish tasting event returns Thursday, April 16, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Mockler Beverage Company, 11811 Reiger Road. Tickets are $50 per person. Proceeds from the event benefit local childhood nutrition programs in the greater Baton Rouge area. CrawFête features more than 15 chefs preparing dishes paired with wines, beers and spirits provided by Mockler. Also on Thursday night is McMains Children’s Developmental Center’s Sips & Suds. The Champagne and beer stroll starts at 6 p.m. The center is located at 1805 College Drive. Food vendors include DiGuilio Brothers and Cupcake Allie. David St. Romain will provide the music. Tickets are $65 per person. Read a preview of the event.

Chef Chris Wadsworth is teaming up with The Healthcare Gallery Friday, April 17. The pop-up dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. and features live painting. Tickets are $25 plus fees. The gallery is located at 3488 Brentwood Drive, #103. Read a preview of the event.

This weekend also sees the arrival of Lemonade Day’s tasting at the Mall of Louisiana and Dinner in the Field, both on Sunday, April 19.
