Description: Louisiana State Museum- Baton Rouge is honored to host the Northwestern Middle School student exhibition Louisiana History Celebrated, May 7- June 15, 2008. Student artwork depicting the major eras of Louisiana history will be on display at the Museum in addition to the permanent exhibitions. The student hand depicts scenes from the French and Spanish Periods, the Antebellum Era, Civil War and Louisiana Purchase. Through the support of Northwestern Middle schoolteachers, this program allows students to illustrate their knowledge of Louisiana history through art. By displaying the student’s work adjacent to the Museum’s unparalleled exhibition Grounds for Greatness: Louisiana and the Nation, their education is rewarded and reinforced.
A reception for the students, teachers and parents will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, 5:30 p.m. The Louisiana State Museum- Baton Rouge is located at 660 N. 4TH Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
