Description: A fresh, new collection of watercolors by accomplished artists of the Louisiana Watercolor Society will greet visitors to the Louisiana State Archives March 1-31. A reception will be held on Sunday, March 9 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Awards for the competition were selected by Darrell Brown, a teacher at the New Orleans Academy of Art since 1984, who is widely recognized for his skill with the use of color pencils and pastels to create detailed, photo-realist works. The Spring Member Show is dedicated to the memory of Baton Rouge artist Mary Jane Cox LWS, a signature member of the society and popular teacher. Her painting, Antelopes, a watercolor inspired by her visit to see the wildlife in Folsom, LA, will be on display. www.LWSart.org
