Description: Michael w. Howes, MJ Bronz and Amy James Exhibition Opening Reception September 5, 7-9 p.m.
Howes and Authement collaborate under the name MJ Bronz to produce sculptural work entitled, “Temple of the Human Spirit.” In this piece the team approaches the transitive nature of the human spirit; embracing its varying character in order to illuminate the concept of the soul, both in physical and philosophical terms.
Individually, Michael w Howes’ series, “Large Guardian” continues to expand on his creature-like sculptures. In this latest effort the artist has taken more liberty with ornamentation and color to create a truly imaginative collection.
Amy James presents her rich and introspective photography in “Boy,” featuring black and white portraits. James creates stunning and soulful images while only using natural light and surroundings. This male themed exhibition run counterpart to a journey in capturing the female, a project of James’ since 1999.
The exhibition will run until September 27.
