Description: Louisiana artist, Edwin Pinkston, is best known as a colorist. His abstract paintings on wood panels are painted in layers of intensely colored acrylic which is sometimes translucent, sometimes opaque, and filled with marks, lines, textures, and scrapings, which allude to historical matters. An outstanding painter and recognized educator, his contribution to the art and culture of Louisiana has been significant throughout his distinguished career.
