Description: Baton Rouge Gallery Goes Back to its Roots
Baton Rouge Gallery will be honoring the founding members of Unit 8 Gallery, which eventually became BRG, in this year's Silent Night Auction, "Back to Our Roots" November 7, 6 – 9 p.m. The exhibition will feature a group show by Baton Rouge Gallery artists and the work of Ed Pramuk and Jim Burke. These featured artists, in collaboration with Jim Jeansonne Russell Guirl, Don Thorton, Fred Packard, Bob Wiggs and John Goodheart, were charter members of Unit 8 Gallery, which opened June 6, 1965. More than forty years since its inception, their original concept has matured into one of the oldest, non-profit, cooperative galleries in the United States, Baton Rouge Gallery, center for contemporary art.
