FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brunner Gallery and Manship Theatre, announce the first in a series of events celebrating collaborations between the performing and visual arts. On February 5 and 6, Manship Theatre presents Grammy Award-winning entertainer and solo pianist, George Winston. Artwork by well known Louisiana photographer, Harriet Blum, is featured on the cover of Winston’s new CD Gulf Coast Blues and Impressions, a Hurricane Relief Benefit.

Harriet Blum has lived in the New Orleans area for 33 years and has developed a recognizable style with a tried and true older-model Nikon camera and infrared film. She develops the film and prints the images herself, then hand-tints each original using transparent oils. Her photographs are included in many well-known museum collections including the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Mobile Museum of Art, the Field Museum of Natural History, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.

Brunner Gallery hosts an exhibition of photographs by Harriet Blum in the Jones Walker Foyer of the Manship Theatre located in the Shaw Center for the Arts from February 3 through February 10, 2007. The artist will be signing prints of her photographs on February 5 and 6 before and after the George Winston performance scheduled for 8 PM in the Manship Theatre.
