Brunner Gallery announces an exhibition of mixed media artworks by contemporary artists working in metal mixed with other mediums such as paint, glass, paper and found objects. Mixed With Metal will be displayed in Brunner Gallery in the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette Street, Baton Rouge, LA,
February 3 through March 10, 2007.
Featured in the exhibition will be collaborations by Anthony and Erika Allison, a Minnesota team of artists who work with metal, paint and found objects; California artist, Scott Amrhein whose evolutionary vessels contrast translucent glass with various elemental materials; and Steven Durow, a New Orleans artist, native of New York, whose large scale sculptures and installations create a symbiosis between the object and the observer. Durow is drawn to forms that are strong and universal. The exhibition will also include a number of mixed media artists from across Louisiana.
