Description: In the West, we have been conditioned to see women in the non-Western world as oppressed and often shrouded in black. In reality, this is not always the case. There are many non-western women who have managed to transcend many “isms,” overcoming obstacles and leading prosperous and successful lives. This presentation will provide a brief, yet revealing perspective on these women of the non-western world. A group discussion will follow the presentation.
Presentation by Robi Woody, EDD, former university administrator and faculty for International and Multicultural Education.
No fee.
*This program is also presented as part of The Greater Baton Rouge Women’s Council’s “Women! A Week-Long Celebration!”
