Introduction to The Raw Food Diet

When: Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: The Red Shoes, 2303 Government St., Baton Rouge

Cost: Not available

Age limit: All ages

Categories: Culinary

Description: No, it’s not just salad and fruits. “Vegan” may be a word that conjures up images of celery for every meal, promising bland breakfasts and dry dinners, but eating so you don’t drag your feet is not necessarily a drag. Dr. Graham will lead participants through the preparation and tasting of several vegan raw food dishes, including breakfast, lunch or dinner entrée, snacks, sides, and desserts. Participants will use organic produce and raw ingredients such as almonds, dates, and oats. Feel energized, have clear healthy skin, and start finding your true weight, not that fictitious number Glamour magazine tries to sell you.
Facilitated by Denise Graham, MD with specialization in psychiatry.
