Argentine Tango

When: Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: The Red Shoes, 2303 Government St., Baton Rouge

Cost: Not available

Age limit: All ages

Categories: Community, Dance performance

Description: This dance of intimacy and intrigue originated at the turn of the century and bloomed in the 30’s and 40’s in Argentinean clubs. Argentine tango strengthens core muscles, improves balance and self-esteem, and strengthens the immune system by releasing endorphins. It helps to relate to others with kindness, focus with intent (as in meditation), and open the heart chakra. In addition to these benefits, it is BIG fun! Come be a part of the rapidly growing Red Shoes Tango community.
Facilitated by Christina Johnson, MA, LPC, LMT, Internationally known tango instructor.
