Our corner of south Louisiana is peppered with wild(-ish) public spaces: refuges, state parks, wildlife management areas and even the wooded conservation areas BREC maintains within the parish. Activities abound with just a short drive or road trip to rolling hills and piny forests or cypress-shaded swamps and maze-like marshes, so get out there and explore. Of course, many of these are remote and public facilities aren’t always available, so do some research to help you prep before setting out on the road.
