Chimes Street-area sushi diner now open

Lodged next to Louie’s Café on State Street, Koi Japanese Cuisine is vying to get the crowds the landmark breakfast diner garners daily. Offering a variety of sushi, sashimi and rolls, the restaurant is an affordable alternative, allowing college kids to bask in the cool of a plate of wasabi hot wings. 225 lunch enthusiasts recommend their fresh pepper tuna (pictured) and the signature Koi roll, filled with a savory trio of cream cheese, mango and eel. The pork dumplings weren’t so bad either. Visit them for lunch daily, until 11 p.m. weeknights, until midnight Friday and Saturday, or Sundays from noon to 10 p.m. (Rebecca Breeden)
