Louisiana startups have been hitting the national news outlets lately. Earlier this month, I wrote about Yellow Jacket Case being highlighted on Mashable.com.
Well, this week, Twin Engine Labs, which operates out of the Cohab coworking space in Shreveport, was featured on Forbes.com.
Also, PollBob, a startup based in New Orleans that provided social/mobile polling app, was acquired this month by QuestionPro. Read about it on Forbes.com. If you'd like some insight from the CEO of QuestionPro about the acquisition, here is a great interview about why they went after Pollbob. PollBob was co-founded by Zach Kupperman, who is also the founder of Silicon Bayou News, an online news outlet run out of New Orleans that covers startup and technology news for all of Louisiana.
Of course, in case you missed this primo article in the Wall Street Journal earlier this summer, you have got to check it out. A few key leaders from the New Orleans startup scene were highlighted on page A3. Head over to WSJ.com to read it yourself.
PS, While local startup College District may not have had a national news story this month, you know everyone in the nation has been talking about the Honey Badger. Which means they were talking about College District.

The highlights of the night were the three middle courses—a black bean soup laced with blood sausage to signify Lord Voldemort, a brace of coneys on black eyed peas resembling Sauron, and lamb medallions atop a fava bean puree to pay homage to the famous favorite of Hannibal Lector.
