Bites: Dreaming of Dream Berrie
Bites: Dreaming of Dream Berrie

Pho and fro-yo under the same roof may not sound like the most intuitive idea, but that's the concept behind Dream Berrie Café on Sherwood Forest Boulevard. It's proving to be a recipe for success. Inside the cheery, brightly painted café, customers can seat themselves at a table and order from a menu of delicious Vietnamese favorites, including the ever-popular beef-noodle soup, pho. Much like self-serve frozen yogurt, pho has a DIY element, as you can choose to mix in as much or as little lime juice, chili, basil, jalapenos and bean sprouts as your taste buds can handle—and at Dream Berrie, there's no need to be stingy with the spice. After all, once you're done slurping your soup, you can stroll over to the other side of the café and serve yourself a tasty, cooling helping of frozen yogurt in one of a dozen flavors from the mundane to the exotic—and top it with anything from fresh fruit to chocolate sprinkles.

The highlights of the night were the three middle courses—a black bean soup laced with blood sausage to signify Lord Voldemort, a brace of coneys on black eyed peas resembling Sauron, and lamb medallions atop a fava bean puree to pay homage to the famous favorite of Hannibal Lector.
