Update: Tin Roof’s tap room nearing completion

Fans of Tin Roof will be glad to hear that the local brewery’s tap room is less than a month away from opening. Though a firm date has not been set in stone, the Capital City brewing company will resume tours Friday 5 p.m.-9 p.m. The tour will feature food from Taco de Paco and give patrons a view of the tap room.

The brewery hired Charles Pierce as its tap room manager and event coordinator last week. Pierce, a host of the Me and My Big Mouth podcast and radio show, has prior experience in management and says the tap room has the potential to become the hangout spot for Baton Rouge.

The tap room features two 60-inch flat screen TVs, a game room with a ping pong table, capacity for around 70-80 guests and 10 taps of Tin Roof beer. Those taps will include the four year-round staples—Perfect Tin, Blonde Ale, Voodoo Bengal and Juke Joint IPA. The fifth tap will be a seasonal beer, and the remaining taps will be beers you can only enjoy at the tap room.

Pierce says he and Tin Roof are currently toying with the small details of the tap room, such as hours, special events, pricing for hosting events and more. Once open, Pierce says he’d like the tap room to be an enjoyable space for everyone.

“I want people to come experience the space and enjoy the beer,” he says. “I want it to feel like a neighborhood bar.”
