Hear American Aquarium at The Varsity

North Carolina alt-country rockers return to the Capital City. American Aquarium performs at The Varsity Friday. Doors open at 8 p.m. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 online. Cody Joe Tillman & The Wicked Truth and locals Elsah open. This weekend’s performance is part of a short tour for American Aquarium, which is in the midst of wrapping up its sixth album, Wolves. The album follows 2012’s acclaimed Burn.Flicker.Die, which included fan favorites such as “Lonely Ain’t Easy” and “St. Mary’s.” After relentless touring, the band found fans across America and became one of the more consistent modern touring rock bands.
