As offensive guard for the Tigers in the late 1980s, Ruffin Rodrigue made sure quarterback Tommy Hodson was well taken care of in the backfield. Now the Ruffino’s owner brings that same dedication to accommodating his guests when he throws a game-day party.
Though he’s proud of his Italian restaurant’s menu, he typically offers fellow tailgaters something other than the dishes his acclaimed eatery is known for, just to mix things up.
What never changes is Rodrigue’s passion for LSU and his energy level. “Our tailgate spot is right where the team buses and Tiger band come by,” Rodrigue says. “That’s when it really gets cranked up, especially the music and dancing.”
